Club Indianapolis

Club Indianapolis is a private gay and bisexual men's bathhouse and gym in downtown Indianapolis, located at 620 N. Capitol Ave., five blocks north of the Indiana Statehouse and a short distance from the city's Mass Avenue gay nightlife district. It operates as part of the Club Saunas network, with founding owner Jack Campbell credited on the club's own site with opposing the anti-gay Save Our Children campaign in the 1970s and supporting the founding of the Metropolitan Community Church and the Gay Games. The club is open 24 hours a day, year-round, and admits members 18 and older. The facility combines a circuit-style gym with bathhouse and social amenities: a full range of cardio and strength equipment, a dry cedar sauna, a steam room, a whirlpool, a seasonal heated outdoor pool, private dressing rooms, lockers, showers, a video lounge, a small retail counter, free Wi-Fi and ample free on-site parking. Club Indianapolis also functions as a community health resource — the Marion County Health Department runs free HIV/STD testing on-site every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with condoms and safe-sex information available to members and non-members alike. Entry requires purchasing a membership with a valid government or military photo ID; anonymous admission is not permitted. A one-time-visit membership costs $12 (free for men 18–24 on weekdays), while a six-month membership is $40. Once a membership is active, guests pay separately to rent a locker ($15–22, depending on day and time) or a private dressing room ($28–36), with weekend pricing running from 4pm Friday through 8am Monday. The club is strictly alcohol- and drug-free with a zero-tolerance policy, prohibits cameras and camera phones throughout, allows only small drawstring or toiletry bags, and does not offer in-and-out privileges once a rental period begins; all sales are final.
