KinkZone

KinkZone describes itself as Canberra's only purpose-built alternative lifestyle studio, operating from a discreet unit in the light-industrial suburb of Fyshwick, roughly 2–3 km east-southeast of the city centre. The venue serves both the kink and swinging communities under one roof, running separate event formats to accommodate different experience levels and identities — from beginner-friendly introductory nights through to invitation-only BDSM parties. After a hiatus that ran from 2020 to 2024, the club returned under new management and has since built a calendar of more than a dozen recurring event formats. The custom-designed interior centres on a large open-plan area with substantial seating and space for dancing, along with intimate nooks and dedicated playrooms for private or group activity. All tickets include entry, use of the cloakroom, light refreshments, non-alcoholic beverages (soft drinks, tea, coffee), condoms, lubricant, and access to shower facilities. Alcohol is not provided or sold; BYO is permitted. The first floor is reached only by stairs — there is no lift — though a ground-floor accessible toilet is available, the main event spaces have 96 cm-wide doors at their narrowest, accessible showers are on-site, and no fluorescent lighting is used during events. Smoking and vaping are confined to a designated outdoor courtyard. All attendance requires completing a vetting process before a first event; new contacts are added to the system each Monday, with an initial reply typically within five days. From July 2026, standard event tickets are priced at A$69; KZ Swing is A$120 per couple, A$100 for single men, and A$60 for single women; specialty nights including Rainbow Haven, Rope, and FemDomme are A$60; and the Under 30s event is A$45. Booking fees apply on top of all ticket prices. Optional memberships — Silver at A$250 per year or Gold at A$525 per year — provide reserved spaces, free events, booking-fee waivers, and discounted tickets, though membership is not required to attend.
