Club 616 is a members-only lifestyle club serving West Michigan, running themed hotel-takeover events in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and Newaygo. Current hosts took over in January 2012, building on a group dating to the 1990s. Membership welcomes couples, single ladies, and sponsored single gentlemen; the club calls itself BDSM, kink, and LGBTQ+ friendly, and joining requires an application, photo ID, and signed consent forms. Signature parties — Red Carpet NYE, Halloween, and a spring weekend — bring a dance floor, DJ, dance pole, light show, a pool party, and a VIP room with bench swings, a St. Andrew's cross, and a ladies-only bed. A recent Halloween filled a 182-room hotel, with dress shifting by zone: street clothes in the lobby, g-strings/pasties minimum poolside, and no dress code in the VIP room. Entry is 21-and-up, reservation-only, with ID checked at registration; a strict consent policy bars unwanted touching, and cameras are banned at events.
