Choice Social Club is New England's flagship on-premise lifestyle club, occupying 8,000 square feet behind a red door in a Providence industrial neighborhood on Porter Street. Inside the contrast is sharp: warm-toned lounges furnished in leather, a dance floor with a video wall and stripper pole, a BYOB bar, and a backyard patio that opens for summer events. The building's 14 themed playrooms include a voyeur chamber with a one-way window, a schoolhouse room, a massage room, a blacklight room, a glory hole room, and a group room with an L-shaped multi-bed layout. A dedicated BDSM corner houses St. Andrew's crosses and sawhorse equipment. Staff change sheets between uses throughout the night. Membership and pricing have two layers. Annual memberships run $45 for couples ($250 premium), $40-65 for single women, and a $100 introductory rate for single men, who face a 3-4 month waitlist given strict ratio management. Per-event admission adds $90 for couples, $100 for single men, and $5 for single women. First-timers receive a complimentary trial membership. Events run Saturdays 9 pm to 2 am with themed nights rotating through the calendar; a Ropes class runs on the third Thursday at 7 pm. The BYOB system works by handing bottles to staff at check-in labelled with your membership number and requesting drinks at the bar all night with the club supplying mixers and ice. Playroom etiquette follows a plastic-chain signal system: chain on the door means open to observation or polite requests to join; door open and unchained means people may ask; curtain or door closed means full privacy. The crowd runs approximately 90% couples with an average age of 35-45, and the single-male quota is actively controlled to keep the balance couples-focused. The club has operated under Red Door Operations, LLC since 2009; a COVID closure prompted a 2021 GoFundMe by owner Jim Knaus that raised over $5,000 before reopening.
