Club Rendezvous (Club R)

Club Rendezvous — known to members simply as Club R — is Alberta's longest-running lifestyle club, welcoming Calgary's open-minded community since 1983. Under Ryan and Alicia Goeseels' ownership since 2012, it has grown into a fully licensed, AGLC-compliant venue that holds a 4.7-star Google rating across more than 180 reviews. The club spans two floors in a northeast Calgary building with a free parking lot right out front. Downstairs is the social heart of the night: a large dance floor with a stripper pole, a DJ booth spinning dance and house sets, a well-stocked licensed bar with a kitchen area for mixing your own drinks, plus a long community table and lounge booths lining the room for easy mingling between sets. Upstairs opens into the play area — an airy, open-concept space furnished with mattresses, beds, couches and a sex swing, where curtains pull closed around the beds whenever you want a more private, semi-secluded moment. The space is known for being spotlessly clean and is wheelchair accessible, with accessible seating, a lift and an accessible restroom. Club R is open every Friday and Saturday from 9 PM to 3 AM, with workshops and social events on select weeknights (roughly 7–11 PM). Rather than generic theme nights, it runs curated Club R Signature Events™, each built around a distinct energy and flow. Long-running favourites include First Time Friday for newcomers (meet, play, explore); Unicorn Friday, where single ladies get in free all night with a paid membership; the Saturday Lingerie Dance Party; the always-popular Little Black Dress "Midnight Seduction"; Taboo Friday; and dedicated Newbie & Member Appreciation nights. Entry is membership-based and capacity-controlled to protect the room's quality and balance: memberships start at $9.95 for a week and scale to $100 for the year (CAD), with event admission around $60 per couple and $30 per single. Couples and single women are the priority crowd, while single men are admitted in limited, screened numbers each event. The "dress to impress" code is genuinely enforced — upscale, sexy and theme-appropriate, with no tank tops, sideways hats, workout wear or sweatpants, work boots, exposed chains or man bags. Just as importantly, Club R runs on a consent-first culture where respect, privacy and enthusiastic consent are non-negotiable, backed by clear house rules and etiquette that underpin its Safe Space Alliance recognition. The team is famously warm with first-timers, and the club welcomes all bodies, genders, orientations and experience levels (18+) — part of why a community of roughly 5,100 keeps coming back.
