Inversion MKE took over a 7,500 sq ft suite of a 1950s multi-tenant flex/industrial building at 615 S 89th Street, on the western edge of Milwaukee proper at the West Allis border, in the second half of 2024 — stepping into the venue previously run as Club EASSEL with new management and a deliberately re-set identity. The change ran clean through the City of Milwaukee Board of Zoning Appeals: Inversion MKE, LLC filed for a special use permit on the 12 September 2024 agenda (Case BZZA-24-00260), was adjourned to the October meeting, and the permit was granted unanimously on 10 October 2024 to operate the premises as an "indoor recreation facility" for a five-year term running through 22 September 2029. The clubeassel.com site went dark shortly after, and the new operation went live under the Inversion name. The club is built on the standard US kink/BDSM community-center model rather than the swinger format that dominates most lifestyle directories — and the pricing tells the story. A Basic individual membership is $50 a month; a Premium dual membership is $90, roughly 1.8x rather than the steep couples-discount/single-male-surcharge ratio you'd see at a swinger club. Singles are charged the same as couples. Guests are sponsored, not gated. A 7-day temporary pass costs $30 and covers one event (not valid on Tuesdays); a Member-Sponsored Guest pass is $20 and requires the sponsor to be present at check-in. Memberships beyond temporary tiers auto-renew, and all sales are non-refundable. Three, six and twelve month commitments drop the monthly price meaningfully — Premium annual lands at $720, around 33% off the rolling rate. Every first-time guest pays for a tour/orientation before they ever attend an event; that orientation is mandatory and serves as the venue's consent-and-rules onboarding. Programming runs Friday and Saturday evenings from 8pm to midnight, event-dependent, with Saturdays the marquee play-party slot — sometimes hitting capacity even with door passes in hand. Tuesdays add a short members-and-guests window from 7:30 to 8:30pm — the cadence of a midweek munch, rope practice or members' social, which is consistent with how comparable community spaces structure their week. Event detail lives on FetLife (@InversionMKE), not on the public website, which keeps Inversion off the swinger-directory grid (no listings on SDC, Kasidie, SwingLifestyle, Yelp or Google Maps) and inside the BDSM social network instead. Community sentiment under the new owners has been notably positive — the lone r/milwaukee thread on the rebrand calls it "one of the best run establishments I know of," praises the "great culture of safety and consent," and notes the management swap explicitly.
