KitKat Club

Founded in March 1994 by Austrian filmmaker Simon Thaur and his partner Kirsten Krueger, KitKatClub is one of Berlin's most internationally recognised sex-positive nightclubs. Operating since 2007 from an industrial building in Berlin-Mitte at Koepenicker Strasse 76, the club takes its name from the fictional venue in the musical Cabaret, a deliberate reference to the erotic freedoms of Weimar-era Berlin the founders set out to revive. Its founding principle, do what you want but stay in communication, underpins a sex-positive, queer-inclusive culture that has attracted a cosmopolitan international crowd over three decades. The multi-level venue centres on three dancefloors -- the Main Floor, the Dragon Floor, and the lower Prisma Bar -- supported by seven bars, a candy counter, and a salon chill-out area. A dedicated BDSM space and private rooms occupy the lower floors; outside, a semi-covered terrace holds a swimming pool and sauna. Ultraviolet lighting throughout illuminates fluorescent murals by Berlin artist Vigor Calma. Free cloakroom and changing facilities allow guests to arrive in street clothes and transform on site. The weekly flagship is CarneBall Bizarre on Saturdays, with a Come Together pre-party from 20:00 opening the pool and sauna before main doors at 23:00, running into Sunday morning. Fridays rotate among Fourplay, GEGEN, Mystic Rose, and PIEPSHOW; Wednesdays host Symbiotikka; Mondays run Electric Monday with the most relaxed dress code of the week. Sunday mornings bring the Nachspiel afterparty from 08:00. Entry is EUR15-25 by event, cash only; an ATM stands immediately outside. Photo ID proving age 18 or over is required. A fetish-forward dress code -- latex, leather, PVC, lingerie, elaborate costume -- is enforced across all nights; jeans, plain t-shirts, and standard streetwear are refused.
