The Badd Kitty Club

The Badd Kitty Club operated out of a large private venue at 3491 Route 20 in the town of Sheridan, Chautauqua County — about 45 miles southwest of Buffalo near the Fredonia/Dunkirk exit. Billing itself as western New York's premier women-run, on-premise lifestyle club, it catered exclusively to couples and single women; membership was free to apply for, with event access and website login granted only after vetting. The club described itself as a private, members-only setting for couples and singles to explore their passions without inhibition. At its peak the club hosted several events per month, drawing gatherings of around 50 people at a time. Owner Raquel Spears argued it was a legitimate private business and a responsible neighbour; reports noted guests paying approximately $150 per head, with the club estimating close to $300,000 in annual economic impact. The venue shared its building with a daytime pawn shop, operated evenings with no exterior signage, and admitted only pre-screened members — BYOB throughout, with no bar licence. The physical venue was destroyed in a fire on July 11, 2022. As of late 2024 the burned-out shell remained standing, with the Town of Sheridan filing a state Supreme Court lawsuit against the property owner seeking demolition and site remediation. The club website (baddkittyclub.com) remains reachable but returns sparse content; no verified evidence of a new operating location has been found.
