One of the longest-running lifestyle organizations in the Southeast, Carolina Friends traces its roots to 1991, when eight Charlotte-area couples pooled resources to throw a discreet monthly hotel party for roughly thirty pairs. Three decades and more than 40,000 couples on the roster later, the club now operates as a full hotel-takeover outfit, booking entire hotels exclusively for members in both the Charlotte metro and the Triad region around Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Charlotte events regularly draw 400-plus couples; Triad nights typically pull 150 or more. Each takeover follows a familiar rhythm: a live DJ and dance floor anchor the social side, while a full buffet, BYOB bar with provided mixers and bartender service, co-ed showers, towels, and lockers keep the logistics covered. Private activity areas, group rooms, and a voyeur/exhibition space make up the play options, and a late-night breakfast gathering caps the evening. During warmer months, pool parties are added to the rotation. Events run Friday and Saturday nights, generally 8 pm to 2 am, and most carry themed dress codes -- upscale and sexy for women, smart casual for men. Admission is couples-focused: single females are always welcome, single males are accepted at most events but capped to maintain balance. A free online profile with your legal name is required before you can purchase event tickets or the optional membership ($13.68/month), which unlocks private chat, passkey photos, and the AutoDate matchmaking feature on the member platform.
