CJ's at The Townhouse

Tucked into a quiet corner of Kelvindale on Glasgow's leafy west side, CJ's at The Townhouse has built a reputation as one of Scotland's most welcoming swingers clubs. The venue spans two floors of a discreet townhouse on Ashburton Road, with a trio of stripper-pole-lined lounges, a self-service bar and a buffet downstairs, and a warren of eight themed playrooms upstairs. Owner CJ personally walks first-timers through the space, and the crowd — a friendly mix of regulars and newcomers, often spanning their late twenties to early sixties — sets a tone that's more living-room than nightclub. Parties run on a tight rhythm: Friday nights (8pm–midnight) are couples and single ladies only; Saturdays (9pm–2am) open the door to a limited number of single men; and once a month, a Wednesday afternoon party (noon–3pm) welcomes everyone. There are also dedicated gay and bi-male nights run under the @cjs4gay banner. Entry is by prior booking only — no walk-ins, no admittance after 11pm — and photo ID (passport, driving licence or utility bill) is required at the door. Dress code is strictly enforced: a sexy little number for the ladies, smart casual or sexy attire for the gents. The playrooms cover everything from a cinema lounge and an open group room to a fully equipped dungeon, a medical-themed private room, a voyeur room, and a couples-and-single-females-only room with a love swing. Phones are off in public areas and cameras are banned outright, which keeps the vibe relaxed and discreet. The "party contribution" at the door covers a buffet plus tea, coffee and soft drinks; alcohol is BYOB with no corkage. Towels and condoms are provided, there's a separate indoor smoking area, and an on-site wardrobe and makeover service is on hand for anyone who wants to dress up before they head in.
