Club AntiChrist

Club AntiChrist launched in 2004 under promoter d.Void at Camden's Electric Ballroom, before being relaunched in 2007 by Missy with a full multi-room format that included five live bands and several dancefloors. Over the following years it moved through a string of London venues — Colosseum, Electrowerkz, Fire, and others — before settling at Scala, the 1920s-built former cinema at 275 Pentonville Road in King's Cross. Self-billed as ‘Goth Fetish Industrial Metal Mayhem,’ the night draws from overlapping worlds of metal, goth, industrial music, performance art, and fetish subculture. Queer-friendly and inclusive by design, it marked its 21st year in 2025 and is one of London's longest-running alternative events. Scala's multi-floor layout accommodates five distinct zones. Three dancefloors cover different sonic territories: The Hole runs metal, the Hellfire Room handles goth, post-punk, and dark electro, and The Foyer covers 80s and new romantic sounds and hosts a shibari corner. The Theatre of Sin stages live bands and continuous performances — fire acts, aerial work, burlesque, comedy, and cabaret — throughout the night. The Dungeon is a purpose-fitted BDSM play space equipped by Benchmarxxx with a St Andrew's Cross, spanking benches, a gynae chair, and a swing; experienced Dungeon Monitors wearing flashing lanyards supervise throughout and may halt unsafe play. A separate dark playroom offers more privacy for couples and groups. An outdoor garden provides a retreat, hot food is served on-site, and the building has gender-neutral toilets, a cloakroom, and ATMs. Events run roughly five to six times per year at Scala, typically themed — a birthday party each June, vampire balls in September, a ‘Not NYE’ party in early January, and occasional themed specials. Doors open at 9pm; last entry is at 2am and the venue runs until 6am. Advance tickets are sold via Dice.fm at approximately £36.50 per person (prices vary by tier and event); door entry is £40 cash. All attendees must be 18 or over and present original physical photo ID — driving licence, passport, or PASS hologram card; digital copies are refused. An enforced alternative dress code requires goth, punk, fetishwear, PVC, rubber, lace, cosplay, or similar; the stated minimum is ‘Alt-Comfortable: combats, band tee, boots.’ Street clothes, regular denim, white trainers, and standard suits are refused at the door.
