Club L (Le Club L)

Club L is a members-only lifestyle and swinging club occupying more than 7,200 square feet across two floors of a converted Caisse Populaire Desjardins building on Rue Jean-Talon Est in Montreal's Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie neighbourhood. Founded by the couple Mateo Lapointe and Andree, who have practised open relationships since 2003, the venue positions itself as one of Quebec's premier couple-centred libertine spaces — high-end, consent-focused, and deliberately discreet from the street. The ground floor operates as a full restaurant-lounge with small round tables, a central bar, and a chef preparing plated meals that are included in the entry price. A DJ plays on Friday and Saturday nights, and all sexual activity is confined to the second floor — keeping the main floor comfortable for socialising, dining, and meeting at any pace. The second floor opens around 22:30 and holds nine themed private rooms plus a large open communal play area. Rooms are equipped with individual sinks, adjustable mood lighting, and personalised sound controls; there are showers, towels, and full bathroom toiletries on the same floor. Suspension anchors for Shibari and swing chairs are available in the communal space, and on-floor security monitors (vigiles) are present throughout the playroom level at all times. Friday and Saturday nights run 19:00-03:00 and are reserved for couples, single women (femmes libres), and pre-sponsored male escorts (hommes accompagnateurs) whose sponsors must register them in advance — unaccompanied men are not admitted. Select Thursday evenings run 19:00-23:00 as social-only events open to all adults 18 and over, with the second floor closed and no membership required. A valid membership is mandatory for all Friday and Saturday visits: CAD $35 per person for one month, or CAD $75 per person annually. Entry fees vary by event from CAD $45 to $80 per person (plus tax), covering one meal per person. First-time visitors must arrive by 23:00 to complete a mandatory guided tour of the second floor. Payment is accepted in cash or physical debit card only; online reservations carry a non-refundable CAD $5 per person deposit credited at the door.
