Sameplace

Sameplace is an erotic café and adult lifestyle venue at Nassaukade 120 on the western fringe of Amsterdam's Westerpark neighbourhood, a short tram ride from the city centre. Open since the mid-1990s, it markets itself as Amsterdam's premier female-friendly erotic café and draws a genuinely mixed crowd — straight couples, gay men, single women, and on most nights single men as well. The premises run across two floors plus a basement. A U-shaped bar with booth seating anchors the ground floor; upstairs, a dance floor operates with a resident DJ on busier evenings. The basement holds the harder-edged spaces: a dungeon fitted with a sex swing and a sex chair, BDSM equipment, and a dark room. A changing room with lockers and towels is available. The programme of themed nights is central to the club's identity: regular rotation includes BDSM Pure evenings, fetish-dress nights with enforced dress code, a Shamelessly Naked party, a T&T night, bisexual and trans nights, costume parties, and a monthly fistfuck event on the fourth Sunday. One evening each week is reserved for gay men only. Staff meet guests at the door and walk newcomers through the space; a strict consent policy is actively enforced — visitors report that a firm refusal from any patron is respected without negotiation. The venue is open Tuesday through Thursday from 21:00 to 02:00, Friday and Saturday from 21:00 to 03:00, and Sunday in two sessions: 15:00–21:00 (couples only) and 22:00–03:00; the club is closed on Mondays. Entry is via a doorbell; there is no street queue. Entry fees vary by event and themed night. The venue is cash-only — no card payments are accepted. Dress codes are enforced on fetish and specialist nights; casual attire is acceptable on standard evenings. Nudity is permitted throughout the venue.
