The Sterling

Sterling bills itself as a BYOB neighborhood lounge in Boston Metro-West corridor — a low-key, residential-scale club where couples can meet, socialize, and play on-premise without the noise of a larger nightclub. Holding the distinction of being New England's second-oldest swing club and a NASCA International member, Sterling has built a reputation for discretion and longevity over flash. The venue has no dance floor, no pool, no hot tub, and no private rooms — the emphasis is firmly on the social side, with self-serve BYOB and no smoking inside. The schedule centers on Saturday evenings with parties most weeks; the space is also available most other afternoons and evenings for members' use, giving it the feel of a private club. Admission is by membership only — prospective members must complete an interview before attending — and out-of-area NASCA-I affiliate cards are honored for visitors from other regions. Membership is restricted to couples and single women; single men are not invited to club events. The club serves Greater Boston, northern Rhode Island, southern New Hampshire, and southern Maine.
