Club de Rencontre La Rumeur

Club de Rencontre La Rumeur has been Quebec City's primary address for the lifestyle scene for more than three decades — its annual signature event, the Bar en Blanc gala, reached its 33rd edition in March 2026. The venue occupies a commercial unit in a light-industrial pocket of the western suburbs at 600 Rue des Canetons, a short drive from the city centre but well removed from the old-city tourist corridor. It describes itself as a club for "gens libérés" and draws couples and singles who come to socialize, dance or explore within a framework that places mutual respect at the centre of its stated rules. The space is divided into two functionally distinct sections. The front half is a licensed discotheque with a full cash bar, a dance floor and a rotating calendar of themed nights — decade evenings, candaulism nights, déshabillé parties and seasonal galas among them — that give regulars a consistent reason to return. Beyond it lies La Cachette ("the hiding place"), an alcohol-free zone housing the club's intimate facilities: a coat check, showers, bathroom, towels, a mirrored dance floor with a podium and pole flanked by high-top tables for spectators, couches, four private rooms (one fitted with four beds) and a lounge with a wall-mounted screen. Lockers with provided locks are available. Staff members escort first-time visitors through both sections before the evening gets under way. The club runs Thursday through Saturday. Thursdays (9 pm–1 am) are open-door nights requiring no membership, and La Cachette is accessible to all guests. Fridays (9 pm–3 am) welcome couples alongside singles of all genders; Saturdays (9 pm–3 am) restrict entry to couples and unaccompanied women, with single men excluded. Annual membership costs $90 for a couple or a single man; single women join at no charge. Per-event pricing starts at $20 per couple, $40 for single men, and ranges from free to $10 for single women depending on the night. A membership card is mandatory for special events, including the Bar en Blanc.
