Club Sin

Club Sin is Montreal's longest-running monthly fetish event, held on the first Friday of each month in the second-floor cabaret of Café Cléopâtre at 1230 boulevard Saint-Laurent, at the edge of the Quartier des Spectacles. The event is organized by Eric Paradis, who has been active in Montreal's fetish scene for more than 35 years and who also produces the annual Montreal Fetish Weekend each Labour Day weekend. Café Cléopâtre — the last surviving show bar from the Main's most notorious era, operating since at least 1976 — provides the venue and a large part of its historical charge as a space that has hosted vaudeville, burlesque, drag, and trans cabaret for well over a century. Club Sin occupies the upstairs cabaret, a room built around a performance stage and a cash-only bar. The event is billed as a night of shows, dance, and play. Paradis has described the crowd as people from different backgrounds and professions who arrive in costume to express their identities as sexual beings; vibe reporting from 2010 documents an audience in black leather and latex alongside staged fetish performances, and a 2024 Concordian piece situates Club Sin as a pillar of Montreal's kink community, which it notes increasingly intersects with queer culture. The median age reported in early coverage was around 30. Café Cléopâtre has long been recognized as a welcoming space for Montreal's LGBTQ+ and trans communities, a character that carries through to Club Sin's programming. The upstairs bar is cash only; an ATM is available on the ground floor, which continues to operate as a strip club on event nights. No published dress code rules are independently accessible, though fetish and kink attire is consistent with the event's established character and organizer framing. Club Sin is distinct in format and scale from the annual Montreal Fetish Weekend, though both share the same producer and have used the same venue.
